Description
Eesti: Mikrofotol on alt tuleva valgusega jäädvustatud tähekujuline lumehelves. Pilt on tehtud mikroskoobi all 8x suurendusega objektiivi abil. Kogu kristalli ulatuses teravuse saavutamiseks on kasutatud fookuse virnastamise (focus stacking) tehnikat. Kuna virnastamiseks vajalike kaadrite tegemine nõuab pikemat pildistamisaega, on lumehelbe harud jõudnud pisut sulama hakata, mistõttu on harude muidu teravad nurgad sellel fotol kergelt ümardunud.
English: A micrograph of a stellar dendrite snowflake captured using standard bottom lighting. The image was taken under a microscope using an 8x objective. A focus stacking technique was applied to achieve sharp detail across the entire crystal. Because capturing multiple frames for focus stacking requires an extended photographing time, the branches of the snowflake have begun to melt slightly, causing the normally sharp corners of the branches to appear slightly rounded in this photograph.
